Brodnica Celebrates Books: The 23rd National Library Week from May 8th to 15th!

From May 8th to 15th, 2026, the Municipal and County Public Library in Brodnica and its branches invite you to the 23rd National Library Week. This year's edition, locally known as the 13th Library Week in Brodnica, is held under the inspiring motto "Library. You discover. You open." It's a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of literature, culture, and knowledge.

What Awaits You? A Program Full of Attractions!

Opening with "Storytime" and Exhibitions

The celebrations commenced on May 8th. On this day, the youngest book lovers could participate in "Poczytajki z Biblioteką" (Storytime with the Library), held in the picturesque Anna Wazówna Park. Since the beginning of the week, residents of Brodnica and the surrounding areas also have the opportunity to admire extraordinary exhibitions:

• In the adult reading room: "Objects that Remember - History on the Shelf and in the Drawer" – an exhibition revealing stories hidden in everyday objects.
• In the library hall: "Viridarium - Gardens of Faith" by Dr. Joanna Bielska-Krawczyk – an intriguing presentation that combines art with spirituality.

Author Meeting: Aneta Lenga on "Microportions of the World"

One of the key events of the week will be an author meeting with Aneta Lenga. The author will be a special guest on May 12th at 5:30 PM at the Main Library in Brodnica. This event, organized as part of the "Brodnica Promotions" series, will be an excellent opportunity to discuss her book "Microportions of the World" and learn about the writer's creative inspirations.
