County Firefighter's Day Celebration and 100th Anniversary of OSP Gorczenica

On May 31, 2025, the solemn County Firefighter's Day Celebration and the 30th anniversary of the National Fire and Rescue System, combined with the 100th anniversary of OSP Gorczenica, took place in front of the Volunteer Fire Department in Gorczenica.

Participants and course of the ceremony

The event was attended by numerous firefighters, PSP officers, invited guests and residents, wishing to pay tribute to firefighters - both professional and volunteer. The ceremony began with the presentation of a report to the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Provincial Commander of the PSP, Senior Brigadier Rafał Świechowicz. After singing the national anthem, the President of the District Board of ZOSP RP in Brodnica, Zbigniew Sosnowski, the President of OSP Gorczenica, Wojciech Szulc, and the District Commander of the PSP in Brodnica, Senior Captain Krzysztof Natucki, spoke.

Honorary guests

Among the guests were the Deputy Voivode of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Piotr Hemmerling, a councilor of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province Assembly, Paweł Zgórzyński, the Brodnica Staroste Paweł Szramka, representatives of the army, uniformed services, local government authorities and PSP commanders from neighboring districts. The musical setting was provided by the Youth Brass Band of OSP from Lidzbark.

Awards and thanks

During the celebrations, decorations, medals, promotions and awards were presented for the commitment and dedication of firefighters. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the National Fire and Rescue System, thanks were given to local government authorities and presidents of OSP units from the Brodnica district. Brodnica Staroste Paweł Szramka was honored for supporting the development of the rescue system at the local level. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of OSP Gorczenica, the Staroste presented a commemorative engraving.

The 100th anniversary of OSP Gorczenica is a celebration for the entire local community. It is an opportunity to remember and look to the future with hope for the further development of the unit.
