Safe May Weekend: Police Appeal

The long-awaited May weekend is approaching, bringing increased traffic on the roads. The police are appealing for extra caution and reminding everyone of safety rules to help avoid tragedies.

Increased Police Controls

From April 30th to May 5th, 2025, more police patrols will be present on the roads. Officers will be checking speed, drivers' sobriety, the technical condition of vehicles, and the way children are transported. They will pay particular attention to offenses such as failure to yield, improper overtaking, and improper behavior towards pedestrians and cyclists.

Appeal for Prudence and Compliance with Regulations

The police appeal for caution, sobriety, and compliance with traffic regulations. Remember:

  • Drunk driving - never get behind the wheel after drinking alcohol!
  • Check the technical condition of the vehicle before departure.
  • Use seat belts and child car seats.
  • Take breaks every 2-3 hours during the journey.
  • Adjust speed to weather and road conditions.

Traffic Bans for Vehicles Over 12 Tons

Due to the May weekend, there are traffic restrictions for vehicles with a permissible total weight exceeding 12 tons throughout the country:

  • April 30, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
  • May 1, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM
  • May 2, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
  • May 3, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM
