Criminals Seized Over Half a Kilogram of Amphetamine

A 30-year-old man arrested by Brodnica criminal investigators faces up to 10 years in prison after police seized over half a kilogram of amphetamine from his property. The man has already been charged with drug possession. For the crime he is suspected of, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

Yesterday (20.03.2025), officers from the Criminal Division of the Brodnica District Police Headquarters, based on prior information, entered one of the properties. During the search, they found over half a kilogram of drugs, which a specially trained dog led them to. Preliminary tests indicated that the seized substance is amphetamine.

In connection with the case, officers detained a 30-year-old resident of the Brodnica district. The man was taken to a police cell and then brought to the prosecutor's office, where he was charged with possession of a significant amount of drugs. The seized substance will be sent for further laboratory analysis, and investigators will check if the man was also trafficking amphetamines and where they came from.

Police, together with the prosecutor, requested the court to temporarily arrest the suspect. According to Article 62(2) of the Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction, the 30-year-old faces a penalty of one to ten years of imprisonment.
