Commitment to the Siberian Exiles

In the Brodnica district, we remember the Siberians. On Friday, March 14, a ceremony commemorating the 85th anniversary of the first mass deportation of Poles to Soviet Russia took place at the Technical School of Siberian Exiles in Brodnica. The event, organized by CKZiU, included a gala summarizing the Knowledge and Artistic Creativity Review - "Around Siberia".

Present at the event were members of the Siberian Exiles Circle in Brodnica and parliamentarians, including Senator Ryszard Bober and MP Zbigniew Sosnowski. Deputy Starosta Arkadiusz Orłowski and Head of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports Dorota Bibik also honored us with their presence. Members of the County Council, representatives of the city government, and uniformed services, including Col. Jarosław Żochowski, Police Commander Insp. Tomasz Skoneczka, and Fire Brigade Commander Capt. Krzysztof Natucki, also participated in the ceremony.

The county delegation paid tribute to the Siberians by laying flowers at the monument commemorating the victims. During the gala, CKZiU director Jacek Gniadkowski emphasized the obligation to cultivate historical truth and shape patriotic attitudes among youth. The goal of the review was to expand knowledge about the deportations of Poles to the Soviet Union.
