Road Safety in Brodnica County
On Friday, October 16th, traffic police officers in Brodnica participated in a nationwide campaign titled "Speed - STOP reckless driving near pedestrian crossings." The main goal of the officers was to eliminate reckless driving and enforce speed limits.
Results and Record-Breaking Violations
During the operation, officers stopped 71 drivers who ignored speed limits. Statistics highlight the scale of the issue, with 4 driving licenses revoked for severe speeding in just one week.
An extreme example of negligence involved a Porsche driver who was caught traveling at 153 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. The driver lost his license for three months, received a fine of 2,500 PLN, and was issued 15 penalty points.
Call to Drivers
Officers remind the public that speeding remains the leading cause of tragic traffic accidents. Drivers are urged to adjust their speed not only to speed limits but also to current road and weather conditions.
