The Economic Crime Prevention Office of the National Police Headquarters and FinCERT.pl (Banking Cybersecurity Center of the Polish Bank Association) have issued a crucial warning. Traditional “police officer” or “bank employee” scams have evolved into a more dangerous form.

How the Scam Works

Criminals are no longer limited to voice calls. They now utilize video calls to convincingly impersonate law enforcement officers or bank staff. By establishing visual contact, they find it easier to build false trust, allowing them to effectively defraud unsuspecting victims of their funds.
