Celebration of Police Day in Bydgoszcz

Event at the Old Market Square

On July 16, 2026, Bydgoszcz hosted the regional and municipal Police Day celebrations. The event, held at the Old Market Square, brought together representatives of state and local authorities as well as uniformed services.

Anniversaries and Awards

This year's celebrations specifically honored the 100th anniversary of Sports in the Police and the 100th anniversary of community policing. During the roll call, 827 promotions were awarded, along with numerous state and departmental decorations, including Long Service Medals and "Meritorious Police Officer" badges.

Ceremony Overview

The event began with the laying of wreaths at the Memorial Board and the Stone of Remembrance. This was followed by a holy mass at the cathedral parish led by Bishop Krzysztof Włodarczyk. The official part included the oath-taking ceremony of 87 new officers and speeches by invited guests, including the First Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Police, Chief Superintendent Roman Kuster. The celebration concluded with a concert by the Wrocław Police Provincial Headquarters Orchestra.
