Unforgettable Stories: The Disappearance of Katarzyna Domeracka and the #MissingNOTforgotten Campaign

May 9, 2000, forever changed the lives of Katarzyna Domeracka's loved ones. On that day, 16-year-old Kasia, full of plans for the future, left her grandparents' apartment in Warsaw, heading towards the Wierzbno metro station. She was supposed to meet friends and go to Zalew Zegrzyński (Zegrze Reservoir). Unfortunately, she never arrived there, nor did she return home.

24 Years Without Answers

Despite intensive operational and procedural actions conducted by the Police, checking subsequent leads, and analyzing information, Kasia's fate remains unexplained. Since her disappearance, Katarzyna Domeracka has not contacted her family, leaving her loved ones in constant uncertainty and pain.

The #MissingNOTforgotten Campaign – A Reminder

As part of the nationwide social campaign #MissingNOTforgotten, initiated by the Polish Police in cooperation with the ITAKA Foundation – Centre for Missing People, stories of children and teenagers who disappeared years ago are being recalled. The campaign aims to emphasize that these cases are still active, and the families of the missing are still awaiting answers. The second edition of this important initiative is currently underway, under the honorary patronage of the Children's Rights Spokesperson Monika Horna-Cieślak.

Help Us Find Kasia

We are publishing Kasia's photograph from the time of her disappearance and an age progression showing what she might look like today as an adult woman. Every piece of information is invaluable. Did anyone have contact with Kasia on May 9, 2000? Did they know her plans, who she was supposed to meet, or for what purpose? Or perhaps they saw her in someone's company? Even the smallest, seemingly insignificant detail, could prove crucial for the investigation.

If you have any information regarding the disappearance of Katarzyna Domeracka, please contact the Police (phone: 112, email: [email protected]) or the ITAKA Foundation (phone: 116 000).
