Search Continues for Łukasz Sas as Part of #MissingNOTforgotten Campaign: Mother Holds Onto Hope

Even years later, disappearances remain open wounds for loved ones. Time, instead of healing, often deepens the pain and uncertainty. This is why the Polish Police, in cooperation with the ITAKA Foundation – Centre for Missing Persons, continues the social campaign #MissingNOTforgotten.

The Story of Łukasz Sas – A Teenager Who Disappeared

One of the stories highlighted in the campaign is that of Łukasz Sas. He disappeared as a teenager on March 30, 1999, after leaving the School and Educational Centre in Śliwiny. What is particularly poignant is that his family was only informed of his disappearance later, after he was removed from the institution's list of residents. Since then, over a dozen years have passed, and Łukasz has never contacted his loved ones – he hasn't called, written, or given any sign of life.

A Mother's Plea: "Son, I Miss You So Much"

Łukasz's mother, Mrs. Dorota Bubel, still lives with hope and, with a heavy heart, addresses her son:

"Dear Łukasz, despite such a long time, we are still waiting for you. We love you all the time, and I ask those who could add something to this case not to keep it to themselves, but to reveal what they know. Perhaps thanks to this, something will finally move forward, and the case will be resolved. Son, I miss you so much."

This is not just an archival case – it is the dramatic story of a mother who, every day, awaits her child's return.

Help Find Łukasz: Every Piece of Information Matters

We believe that someone might remember crucial details from years ago or had contact with Łukasz and possesses a piece of the story that could connect events to his disappearance. We are publishing both a photo of Łukasz from the time of his disappearance and an age progression image showing what he might look like today.

If you have any information that could help find Łukasz, please contact the Police or the ITAKA Foundation immediately:

#MissingNOTforgotten and International Missing Children's Day

The #MissingNOTforgotten campaign aims to recall the stories of children and teenagers who disappeared years ago, to show that these cases are still active, and their loved ones are still waiting for answers.

On May 25, International Missing Children's Day, symbolized by the forget-me-not flower, we will show solidarity with the families of all missing and yet-to-be-found children. We are still searching for answers and waiting for "forget-me-nots" – memories that will help solve these mysteries.

The campaign is under the honorary patronage of the Ombudsman for Children, Monika Horna-Cieślak.
