Avian Influenza (HPAI) Alert in Brodnica and Rypin Regions

The District Veterinary Officer in Brodnica reports the confirmation of an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). The disease outbreak has been localized in the village of Igliczyzna, Bartniczka municipality, Brodnica county, Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship.

Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivode's Regulation

In response to the situation, the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivode issued Regulation No. 28/2026 on May 11, 2026. The purpose of this regulation is to combat avian influenza within the Brodnica and Rypin counties.

Affected Area (Obszar Zapowietrzony)

It includes localities from the following municipalities:

Bartniczka Municipality: Igliczyzna, Jastrzębie, Komorowo, Świerczyny
Brodnica Municipality: Cielęta, Gortatowo, Kozi Róg, Opalenica, Szczuka, Szymkowo
Osiek Municipality: Kujawa

Strict prohibitions apply in the affected area, including:

Movement of birds to and from their keeping places and game bird population renewal facilities.
Organization of game bird hunts.
Organization of exhibitions, markets, shows, and other gatherings of birds, including their acquisition and dissemination.
Movement of hatching eggs, fresh meat and offal, meat products, eggs for human consumption, and animal by-products derived from birds.

Świedziebnia Municipality: Chlebowo, Dzierzno, Granaty, Grzęby, Janowo, Księte, Kłuśno, Mełno, Ostrów, Rokitnica Nowa, Rokitnica-Wieś, Zduny, Świedziebnia
Osiek Municipality: Dębowo, Jeziorki, Kolonia Osiek, Kretki Duże, Kretki Małe, Obórki, Osiek, Strzygi, Sumin, Sumówko, Szynkowizna, Tadajewo, Tomaszewo, Wrzeszewo, Łapinóż

In the threatened area, it is prohibited to:

Organize markets, exhibitions, shows, or competitions where poultry or other birds are gathered.
Market trade of poultry meat, game bird meat, consumption eggs, and hatching eggs.

Additionally, backyard poultry in this area must be kept strictly in coops or other enclosed facilities.
