Warning: Planned Forest Spraying – Temporary Entry Bans Possible!

The Regional Directorate of State Forests in Toruń announces upcoming rescue aerial treatments aimed at protecting our forests from pests. These operations, involving the spraying of tree stands, will be carried out in many forest districts, including the Brodnica Forest District.

Dates and Locations

The treatments are scheduled from May 6 to the second decade of June 2026. Spraying will cover selected sections of pine, oak, and birch stands in the following forest districts:

• Dąbrowa
• Dobrzejewice
• Gniewkowo
• Gołąbki
• Osie
• Przymuszewo
• Rytek
• Szubin
• Tuchola
• Zamrzenica
• Woziwoda
• Cierpiszewo
• Trzebciny
• Miradz

Why are the Sprayings Necessary?

The aim of these actions is to reduce the population of dangerous forest pests, such as the nun moth, chafer beetles, and oak leaf roller, which pose a threat to the sustainability of forests. The treatments are part of research conducted by the Forest Research Institute.

Temporary Forest Entry Bans

During the spraying operations, temporary forest entry bans will be in effect in the treated areas. These areas will be clearly marked with special warning signs to ensure safety. Foresters are monitoring the situation and conducting research to precisely determine the scale of the threat and the areas requiring intervention. If the necessity is confirmed, specialized plant protection products will be used.
