Exceptional Exhibition 'Wirydarz - Gardens of Faith' at Brodnica Library

The Brodnica Library is pleased to invite residents and all interested individuals to a remarkable exhibition titled "Wirydarz - gardens of faith". This display features selected works from the broader series "Hortus", created by the esteemed artist Dr. Joanna Bielska-Krawczyk from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.

The Spiritual Dimension of Nature

The entire "Hortus" series focuses on highlighting the profound, spiritual dimension of nature. However, "Wirydarz" stands out, as it brings together compositions directly inspired by biblical texts, as well as the thoughts and statements of Saint Francis of Assisi and Pope Francis.

Nature in the Context of Faith

The natural motifs appearing in the works comprising "Wirydarz" are not merely a result of simple contemplation of nature. They stem from an in-depth reading and reflection on Christian tradition. The aim of this presented series is to draw attention to the crucial role of nature in Salvation History, as well as the presence of botanical and zoological motifs in religious messages and rich Christian symbolism.
