24th County Easter Palm Competition: Tradition in the Heart of Brodnica County!

We invite you to participate in a unique event that has been celebrating Easter traditions in our region for almost a quarter of a century! This Friday, March 27, the 24th County Easter Palm Competition will take place, jointly organized by the Starost of Brodnica and the Mayor of Bobrowo Commune.

Where and When?

• Date: March 27 (Friday)
• Competition start time: 11:00 AM
• Location: Village Community Center in Małki, Bobrowo Commune. Małki has been recognized as the capital of palm tradition in Brodnica County for years!
• Deadline for palm delivery: By 10:15 AM on the day of the competition.

Purpose and Participants

The main goal of the competition is to cultivate the custom of creating Easter palms, develop creativity, and strengthen bonds within the local community. Each year, the competition welcomes participants from:

• Primary schools
• Secondary schools
• Rural Housewives' Associations (Koła Gospodyń Wiejskich - KGW)
• Organizations operating in Brodnica County

Competition Rules and Palm Requirements

Each participant may submit one palm, which must be made according to traditional rules, detailed in the competition regulations. Palms can be of any height but must be made exclusively from natural materials. Permissible elements include:

• Crepe paper and crêpe
• Boxwood, catkins, birch twigs, reeds
• Other traditional plant elements

Important: The use of artificial decorations and flowers is not allowed.

Categories and Prizes

The competition jury will evaluate the submitted works in three categories, ensuring fair competition and recognition for the best:

• Primary schools
• Secondary schools
• Rural Housewives' Associations and organizations

Attractive prizes and distinctions are provided in each category!
