Nationwide Contest "The Police Officer Who Helped Me" – Nominate a Hero in Uniform!

The Prevention Bureau of the Police Headquarters invites you to participate in another edition of the nationwide contest "The Police Officer Who Helped Me." Its main goal is to recognize and promote police officers who, with exceptional dedication, help victims and individuals in difficult life situations.

Idea and History of the Contest

The contest, held under the honorary patronage of the Chief Commander of Police, has a 19-year tradition. Since its inception, 90 laureates have been honored, whose empathy, consistent action, and heartfelt help have contributed to building a positive image of the Police in society. This contest reminds us that true heroes often wear a police uniform, not a cape.

Who Can You Nominate?

If you know a police officer who stands out because they:

  • helped you when you were harmed as a result of an unfortunate incident or accident;
  • helped you when you were in a difficult life situation;
  • lent you a hand in the most challenging moment of your life;
  • are actively involved in building a local support system;
  • demonstrate exceptional professionalism, an empathetic attitude, and skills in providing individual assistance to crime victims or those experiencing domestic violence,

– do not hesitate and submit a nomination!

How to Nominate a Candidate?

According to the Contest Regulations, an individual, institution, or organization can nominate a police officer. The full regulations and the nomination form are available on this website.

The deadline for submitting nominations is May 31, 2026.

Completed forms should be sent to the email address: [email protected].

Laureate Selection Process

The laureates of the contest are selected by a special Commission, which includes a representative of the Prevention Bureau of the National Police Headquarters and laureates from the three most recent editions of the contest "The Police Officer Who Helped Me." When selecting laureates, particular consideration is given to their involvement in activities aimed at improving citizen safety, as well as their experience and dedication in helping individuals suspected of being harmed.

We warmly invite you to nominate candidates! Let's help honor those who serve society daily with empathy and professionalism.
