Brutal Robbery on Przykop Street

Last week, specifically on Wednesday afternoon, March 11, 2026, a serious robbery occurred in Brodnica on Przykop Street. The victim was a man who was beaten and then robbed of 1000 Polish zlotys. The perpetrator, a 37-year-old resident of Brodnica, did not enjoy his freedom for long.

Brodnica police officers immediately launched intensive operations after the report was made. Thanks to efficiently conducted operational activities, the suspect was apprehended just two hours after the incident and taken to police detention.

Perpetrator's Criminal Past Revealed

The evidence gathered by the police revealed that the 37-year-old has much more than just the recent robbery on his conscience. The prosecution brought additional charges against him:

• Aggravated Theft: On February 12, 2026, he committed theft in one of the grocery stores.
• Mobile Phone Theft: On March 8, 2026, he stole a phone from an elderly woman, and when she tried to retrieve it, the perpetrator used force to retain possession of the loot.
• Misappropriation of Property: Additionally, he will answer for the misappropriation of a signet ring that he borrowed from an acquaintance and did not return.

Severe Legal Consequences

At the request of the police and the prosecutor's office, the court applied a 3-month temporary arrest for the 37-year-old. For all the committed crimes, he faces a prison sentence of 2 to even 15 years. The perpetrator now awaits further trial, which will determine his future behind bars.
