Recruitment for Public Kindergartens in Brodnica for the 2026/2027 School Year

The recruitment process for children to public kindergartens for the 2026/2027 school year is underway in Brodnica. Parents have until March 27, 2026, to submit applications for their children.

Available Places and Locations

Three municipal public kindergartens in Brodnica collectively offer 230 free places, which will be available starting September 1, 2026. These kindergartens operate as part of School-Kindergarten Complexes:

• School and Kindergarten Complex No. 1 (ul. 3 Maja 4) – includes Kindergarten No. 6 at ul. Batalionów Chłopskich 28 and branches at ul. Królowej Jadwigi 2 and ul. 3 Maja 4.
• School and Kindergarten Complex No. 2 (ul. Kolejowa 62) – with Kindergarten No. 8 at ul. Zielona 3 and branches at ul. Kolejowej 62.
• School and Kindergarten Complex No. 3 (ul. Nowa 34) – with Maria Konopnicka Kindergarten at ul. Wyspiańskiego 12a and pre-school and special needs pre-school branches at ul. Wyspiańskiego 13.

Key Dates in the Recruitment Process

The recruitment process follows a strict schedule:

• April 13, 2026: Announcement of lists of children qualified for admission.
• From April 14 to April 24, 2026: Period for parents to confirm their willingness to accept their child's placement in the indicated kindergarten.
• April 27, 2026: Publication of final lists of children admitted to kindergartens.

Recruitment Criteria

The recruitment procedure takes place upon parental application and consists of two stages:

Stage I – National Criteria

In the first stage, nationwide criteria, defined in Article 131, paragraph 2 of the Education Law Act of December 14, 2016, are considered. These include:

1. Large family status of the candidate.
2. Disability of the candidate.
3. Disability of one of the candidate's parents.
4. Disability of both of the candidate's parents.
5. Disability of the candidate's siblings.
6. Single-parent upbringing of the candidate.
7. Candidate covered by foster care.

Stage II – Local Criteria (for Brodnica)

In the event of equivalent results from the first stage or if places remain available, criteria established by the Brodnica City Council (Resolution No. XXII/193/2017 of February 16, 2017) will apply. These criteria specify additional points and required documents.

Additional Information

• The recruitment process is conducted by a commission appointed by the kindergarten director.
• Parents of children not admitted to their preferred kindergarten will receive written information from the Mayor of Brodnica by June 19, 2026, indicating a kindergarten with an available spot.
• Candidates from outside Brodnica may be admitted if places remain after the recruitment process is completed.
