We inform with deep sorrow about the passing

On February 22, 2026, Barbara Bok-Majzel, an exceptionally important figure for the local community, passed away. Ms. Bok-Majzel served as the Chairwoman of the City Council for its 1st term in the years 1990-1994, witnessing and co-creating local government transformation.

A life dedicated to culture and the development of Brodnica

Barbara Bok-Majzel actively worked for many years for the development of the city and its culture. She was a long-time employee of the Brodnica City Hall and the Brodnica House of Culture. At the City Hall, she held the position of head of the Department of Culture, Sport, and Tourism, while at the Brodnica House of Culture, she served as acting director. Her commitment to promoting and developing Brodnica's culture was undeniable.

She was also the founder of the Society of Friends of Michałowska Land (Towarzystwo Miłośników Ziemi Michałowskiej) and a member of the Brodnica Educational Association (Brodnickie Stowarzyszenie Oświatowe), which demonstrates her broad spectrum of social and cultural activities.

Details of the funeral ceremonies

The final farewell to Barbara Bok-Majzel will take place on February 28, 2026. The funeral ceremonies will begin at the Funeral Home on Nowa Street, from where at 10:00 AM, the deceased will be escorted to the parish cemetery.
