Grand Final of the "Service in the Lens" Competition in Bydgoszcz

The Provincial Police Headquarters in Bydgoszcz hosted the grand final of the first edition of the "Service in the Lens" film competition. The idea for and initiation of this unique undertaking came from the Provincial Police Commander in Bydgoszcz, Inspector Jakub Gorczyński.

Competition Objective and Participants

The competition was aimed at male and female police officers from across the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship. Their task was to prepare a single reel-spot that would modernly and accessibly present the daily duties and work of officers from various departments of the Polish Police.

A total of seven film materials were submitted. Among the authors were representatives from several units, including:

• Senior Constable Adrian Serocki (Police Station in Koronowo) from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Bydgoszcz
• Sergeant Jakub Skrzypek (Municipal Police Headquarters in Bydgoszcz) from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Bydgoszcz
• Junior Constable Jakub Gabrysiak from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Toruń
• Junior Constable Paweł Dominiak from the District Police Headquarters in Brodnica
• Senior Sergeant Jakub Kiliszek and Junior Constable Joanna Madej from the District Police Headquarters in Chełmno
• Chief Constable Katarzyna Wilangowska from the District Police Headquarters in Golub-Dobrzyń
• Senior Constable Krzysztof Świerczyński from the District Police Headquarters in Wąbrzeźno

Final Proceedings and Awards

A solemn gathering, during which the laureates were announced, took place in the Memory Room of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Bydgoszcz. All competition participants, along with their Unit Chiefs, attended the meeting. Provincial Commander Insp. Jakub Gorczyński thanked all distinguished male and female police officers for their involvement and the high quality of the submitted materials, presenting them with small gifts.

Subsequently, three finalists were honored and awarded:

• 1st Place: Junior Constable Jakub Gabrysiak from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Toruń
• 2nd Place: Chief Constable Katarzyna Wilangowska from the District Police Headquarters in Golub-Dobrzyń
• 3rd Place: Senior Sergeant Jakub Kiliszek and Junior Constable Joanna Madej from the District Police Headquarters in Chełmno

Inspector Gorczyński emphasized the importance of the projects in building a modern image of the Police and thanked them for the professional execution of the films. The entire initiative was considered a success, and all participants and winners deserve congratulations.
