Safe Holidays 2025: Youth Education in Brodnica

In response to the ongoing winter holidays in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, services responsible for safety and health have undertaken joint educational activities. Last week, Aspirant Izabela Rapicka from the police, specializing in prevention, together with a representative from the Poviat Sanitary-Epidemiological Station in Brodnica, visited young people attending a half-camp at the Sports and Recreation Centre in Brodnica.

Purpose of the Visit and National Campaigns

The main goal of this visit was comprehensive education on safety during winter recreation. The lecture was part of national campaigns such as "I'm Keen on Safety on the Slope" and "Safe Holidays 2025", which aim to raise awareness among children and youth.

Aspirant Izabela Rapicka thoroughly discussed a range of important safety issues:

• Emergency Numbers: Explained in which situations they should be used and why.
• Reflective Elements: Emphasized their importance, especially after dark, to increase visibility.
• Safety on Snow and Ice: Reminded participants about safe play rules on frozen surfaces and the risks associated with entering bodies of water.
• Road Safety Rules: Participants learned how to safely navigate roads in winter conditions.

Important Hygiene Aspects Presented by Sanepid

The Sanepid representative complemented the lecture with health-related issues, emphasizing the importance of personal hygiene and the health consequences that its neglect can bring.

Inspection of Winter Camp Conditions

Furthermore, the policewoman and the Sanepid representative conducted an inspection of the conditions in which the youth were staying during the winter holidays, ensuring that the recreational environment was safe and conducive to health.
