Over 3 kilograms of drugs prevented from reaching the Brodnica market!

Criminal investigators from Brodnica have achieved a significant success, arresting a 26-year-old man from Grudziądz who was transporting a substantial amount of drugs in his car. The detainee has already been charged and has been arrested for 3 months. He faces up to 12 years in prison.

Details of the operation

On Thursday, January 29, 2026, officers from the Criminal Department of the Brodnica Police Headquarters stopped a Volkswagen car driven by the aforementioned 26-year-old. The police suspected that the man might be in possession of drugs destined for the local market.

Seized drugs

The suspicions proved correct. Eight bags containing greenish-brown dried herbs and a white, lumpy substance were found in the vehicle. Tests confirmed that they were narcotic drugs and psychoactive substances – over 2 kg of amphetamine and over 1 kg of marijuana.

Legal consequences

In addition to the drug-related charges, it turned out that the man was driving the vehicle despite a court ban that is valid until March of this year. The court in Brodnica ordered his temporary arrest for 3 months. He faces up to 12 years in prison for introducing a large amount of drugs into circulation and driving without a license.
