"Hot Hearts" Warm Polish Hospice in Lithuania

In early January 2026, donations collected during the "Hot Hearts" campaign reached the Hospice of Blessed Fr. Michał Sopoćko in Vilnius. The campaign was organized by the Special Schools Complex in Brodnica and coordinated by teacher Jerzy Ochlak.

Aid for the Hospice

Wound care supplies, nursing materials, and essential items for daily patient care were delivered. The trip to Lithuania was the culmination of a December collection.

Support from Brodnica

Małgorzata Wróblewska, a teacher from ZSS in Brodnica, emphasized the profound impact of the January trip. School staff, students' parents, Occupational Therapy Workshops from Brodnica, the Brodnica Runs Association, local pharmacies, and private individuals were involved in the campaign.

About the Hospice

The Hospice of Blessed Fr. Michał Sopoćko is the first and only Polish center of its kind in Lithuania, established in 2012. Sister Michaela Rak, the director of the hospice, was deeply moved by the scale of the assistance.

Acknowledgments

The donations arrived at the hospice on January 2, 2026. The organizers of the action also brought sweets, coffee, tea and small gifts for the children. Sister Michaela Rak expressed her sincere thanks for the memory and support coming from Poland.

Continued Cooperation

The cooperation with the hospice has been going on for two years and the organizers hope to continue it.
