Return to the Motherland and Liberation: Brodnica Commemorated January Anniversaries

Brodnica solemnly commemorated important January anniversaries related to the history of the city and region. January 18 marked 106 years since Brodnica's return to the borders of independent Poland, and January 22 marks the 81st anniversary of the city's liberation from Nazi occupation. The ceremonies took place on Friday, January 16.

Celebrations and Ceremonies

The celebrations began with paying tribute to the heroes of the fight for the freedom of the Fatherland in front of the Monument of Gratitude. Then, a ceremonial gala took place in Anna Wazówna Palace. Among the participants were parliamentarians of the Brodnica region, representatives of local governments, uniformed services, organizations and institutions. Occasional speeches were given by the Mayor of Brodnica Jarosław Radacz, the Starost of Brodnica Arkadiusz Orłowski, and the Member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Zbigniew Sosnowski.

Awards and Artistic Part

During the gala, people who contributed to the local community were honored with the Mayor of Brodnica Medals and Commemorative Medals "Ubi Concordia, Ibi Victoria" awarded by the Starost. The artistic part was highlighted by a concert of the Canto Grazioso Choir under the direction of Iwona Mrozińska.

Paying tribute to heroes

The celebrations began with paying tribute to the heroes of independence in front of the Monument of Gratitude. Flowers were laid by the delegation of the Brodnica County.
