Festive Celebration of Senior Citizen's Day in Gortatowo

On January 10, 2026, the community center in Gortatowo hosted a festive celebration of Senior Citizen's Day. The event was organized by the Mayor of Brodnica Municipality, Adam Zalewski, in cooperation with the villages of Dzierżno, Sobiesierzno, and Szymkowo.

The celebration was attended by seniors from the mentioned villages, invited residents of Gortatowo, and representatives of the Senior Club from Szabda. The event was also graced by the presence of the Director of the Social Services Center in Brodnica, Izabella Lewandowska, the Director of the Municipal Public Library in Szczuka, Joanna Bonawenturska, and the Director of the Elementary School in Gortatowo, Zenon Matuszewski.

The celebration began with a Holy Mass, which was celebrated by the parish priest in Jastrzębie. After the service, the Mayor of Brodnica Municipality, Adam Zalewski, welcomed the guests and addressed words of appreciation and best wishes to the seniors.

After the official part, the participants were invited to a reception prepared by the Rural Housewives' Associations from Dzierżno and Szymkowo, and the Senior Club from Szabda. The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere. Seniors shared memories and stories, and an integral part of the celebration was a dance party with well-known songs.
