Holiday road safety: Police appeal and traffic restrictions

Before the upcoming Christmas holidays, the Kujawsko-Pomorska police are appealing for special caution on the roads. Officers are strengthening actions to ensure the safety of all road users. Speed, sobriety of drivers and the method of transporting children will be checked.

Increased traffic is expected during the holiday season, therefore the police will focus on maintaining traffic flow and responding to difficulties. We remind you of the need to comply with speed limits, use seat belts and properly transport children.

Last year, during the Christmas holidays (24-27.12.2024), there were 7 accidents on the roads of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, in which 8 people were injured. The police detained 49 drunk drivers.

Remember to adjust your speed to the weather conditions and check the technical condition of your vehicle before traveling. We appeal for sobriety behind the wheel!

Traffic restrictions for vehicles over 12 tons

We would like to inform you about traffic restrictions for vehicles with a maximum permissible weight exceeding 12 tons (excluding buses) throughout the country on the following dates:

• December 25, 2025 (Christmas Day) from 08:00 to 22:00
• December 26, 2025 (Boxing Day) from 08:00 to 22:00
• January 1, 2026 (New Year's Day) from 08:00 to 22:00
