New Fees and Rules for Municipal Waste in Brodnica from 2026

The Mayor of Brodnica announces changes in fees for municipal waste management, in accordance with Resolution No. XVII/145/2025 of the Brodnica City Council dated November 27, 2025.

New Fee Rates

  • From January 1, 2026: PLN 42 per month per person for segregated waste.
  • PLN 84 per month per person in case of failure to segregate waste.
  • PLN 37 per month per person for owners composting biowaste in home composters (PLN 5 discount).

Property owners will receive notifications about the fee amount calculated based on the new rates and data from the last declaration. There is no need to submit a new declaration unless the data has changed.

Payment Deadlines

Payment deadlines and methods remain unchanged. The fee should be paid monthly, in arrears, by the last day of each month for that month.

Attention! In the case of advance payment for 2026, the difference resulting from the new rates must be paid.

Consequences of Non-Payment

Failure to pay on time will result in the issuance of an enforcement order.

Obligations of Property Owners

Property owners are obliged to report any changes affecting the amount of the fee (number of people, births, deaths, change of owner, sale of property, migrations). The declaration should be submitted to the Brodnica City Hall (ul. Kamionka 23) in person, by post or electronically via ePUAP within 10 days of the month following the month in which the change occurred. The form is available at the City Hall and on the city's website.

Explanation of Fee Increases

The increase in fees is due to the increase in the costs of waste collection and management, which are influenced by macroeconomic factors such as inflation, energy prices, fuel, environmental fees and labor costs. Despite the increase, the basic rate is not among the highest in the region.

Changes in Waste Containers

2025 is the last year in which 110-liter containers (metal cylinders) for municipal waste can be used. New garbage trucks are not adapted to handle them.
