Safe Pedestrian: Provincial Action in Brodnica County

Brodnica police officers actively participated in the provincial action "Safe Pedestrian," aimed at improving the safety of unprotected road users. Despite previous appeals, offenses committed by both pedestrians and drivers continue to be a serious problem.

As part of the action, conducted on November 24 throughout the Brodnica County, police focused on monitoring the behavior of pedestrians and drivers. It is alarming that pedestrians frequently ignore the rules regarding crossing the road in designated places - as many as 33 such offenses were revealed. In addition, 5 people ignored traffic lights, and 2 crossed the pedestrian crossing while using mobile phones.

Drivers are also not without fault. As many as 41 of them exceeded the speed limit in the vicinity of pedestrian crossings. As a result of these violations, police officers imposed 30 fines on pedestrians and 33 on drivers. This action shows how important it is to constantly educate and enforce regulations for the safety of all road users.
