History and Remembrance Lesson in Brodnica

Students from the 2nd and 3rd grades of the Special School Preparing for Work of the Special School Complex in Brodnica participated in a unique history lesson. On November 4, 2025, under the supervision of teachers, they visited the military cemetery in Lasek Miejski to commemorate the soldiers who fell in defense of the Fatherland. The visit took place as part of preparations for the celebration of National Independence Day.

Preparations and Visit to the Cemetery

Before going to the cemetery, the students independently made red and white decorations for candles and a wreath, symbolizing memory and gratitude for those who gave their lives for Poland. As Małgorzata Wróblewska, a teacher from ZSS in Brodnica, emphasizes, the visit was a moment of reflection and understanding that freedom has its price. Lighting candles and laying a wreath were a symbolic gesture of respect.

Walk in Lasek Miejski

After the historical part, the students went for a walk in Lasek Miejski. They used the recreational spaces, which was a supplement to their education. The walk showed that patriotism also means appreciating the place where we live. Monika Borkowska organized this event, taking care to combine history lessons, integration and conscious experiencing of the national holiday.
