Completion of the First Stage of Work at the Church in Gorczenica

The first stage of conservation and restoration work on the wooden ceiling of the historic Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Gorczenica has been completed.

The activities carried out included the removal of overpaintings, disinfection and disinsection of the wood, filling in gaps, and replacing the most damaged ceiling boards. Thanks to these works, the ceiling has regained its former glory, and its artistic and historical value has been secured for future generations.

The second stage of the investment is planned for the coming years, which will include aesthetic and painting work on the ceiling and ceiling beams.

The Parish in Gorczenica received a grant from the Brodnica Commune for the implementation of this task, obtained from the Government Program for the Reconstruction of Monuments "Polish Order". The total cost of the project was PLN 492,000, of which PLN 482,150 came from the grant, and the rest from the Parish's own funds.
