Municipal Mathematics Competition for grades 5-8 concluded!

On October 28, 2025, the Municipal Mathematics Competition took place at the Primary School in Szabda, with the participation of 36 students from grades 5-8 from primary schools in the Brodnica Municipality (SP in Gorczenica, SP in Gortatowo based in Szczuka, and SP in Szabda).

Competition Process

Students had 45 minutes to solve the competition tasks. The maximum number of points to be earned at each age level was 27. The competition committee, chaired by Aleksandra Prusak, vice-principal of SP in Szabda, evaluated the works. The committee also included: Monika Bojanowska, Ewa Mikielewicz and Wioletta Szwarc.

Tie-breaker and Award Ceremony

After checking the papers, it turned out that two students from the eighth grade had the same result, which resulted in a tie-breaker. Finally, after fierce competition, the winners were selected. The awards were presented by the Mayor of Brodnica Municipality, Adam Zalewski, and the director of the Primary School in Szabda, Arkadiusz Chojnowski. The winners received diplomas and prizes, and all participants received consolation prizes. The prizes were funded by the Brodnica Municipality.
