KRUS: Simplified Adjudication Procedures for Farmers!
Bydgoszcz, October 13, 2025 – The Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS) is introducing significant simplifications in the process of issuing medical certificates. From now on, decisions on granting benefits will be made based on the submitted medical documentation, eliminating the need for a personal visit by the farmer.
Changes in KRUS Adjudication
The amendment to the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, which came into force on October 10, enables remote adjudication. Prof. Łukasz Wicherek, Chief Medical Officer of the Fund, emphasizes that this is great news for rural residents, as it will reduce stressful and costly visits to medical examiners.
Benefits for Farmers
Simplified procedures will speed up the process of obtaining certificates, especially for people applying for disability pensions, accident benefits and sickness benefits. Remote adjudication eliminates regionalization, allowing access to specialists from all over Poland, which is particularly important in the case of rare diseases.
KRUS Efficiency
Digitization and standardization of processes will enable KRUS to standardize the adjudication line and standards in medical adjudication, eliminating discrepancies in decisions between regions. Unified medical certificate forms will also be introduced and the importance of rehabilitation will be increased.
The Future of Adjudication
Thanks to the new solutions, KRUS will be able to manage adjudication more effectively, gather knowledge about the causes of farmers' morbidity and adapt its activities to the health needs of rural residents. For farmers, this means a greater sense of security and subjectivity, and for KRUS - measurable benefits related to digitization and the possibility of remote work.
