Sports Festival in Wierzchownia - Stanisława Walasiewiczówna Memorial

We invite all sports enthusiasts to the 2nd Stanisława Walasiewiczówna Memorial, which will take place on October 12, 2025 (Sunday) in Wierzchownia. This is a run and walk for the Cup of the Mayor of the Górzno City and Commune, a unique event commemorating the legendary Polish athlete.

Event Program:

• 10:00 AM - 11:45 AM: Distribution of start numbers and chips
• 12:00 PM: Start of the run and Nordic Walking
• approx. 2:30 PM: Award ceremony, regeneration meal and bonfire

Adults, youth and children can take part in the competition. Medals, sports emotions and a great atmosphere await participants.

Stanisława Walasiewiczówna - Memorial Patron

Stanisława Walasiewiczówna was an Olympic champion from Los Angeles (1932) and a silver medalist from Berlin (1936). She was born in Wierzchownia (Górzno commune, Brodnica district). Her determination and sporting spirit are an inspiration to the local community.
