Be visible, be safe! The "Shine as an Example - Wear Reflectors" campaign is underway

In October, an information and educational campaign aimed at pedestrians under the slogan "Shine as an Example - Wear Reflectors" began. The aim of the initiative is to raise awareness among pedestrians about the need to use reflective elements and promote safe road traffic.

The autumn and winter period is characterized by gloom, dark mornings and rapidly falling dusk. These factors significantly worsen the visibility of pedestrians, especially in poorly lit places and when they are dressed in dark colors.

The police are appealing for wearing reflectors, which significantly increase the visibility of pedestrians, giving drivers more time to react. The importance of reflectors is reminded by the preventive spot "Reflectors are life".

The Road Traffic Law imposes an obligation on pedestrians to wear reflectors after dark outside built-up areas. We encourage this from an early age!

The "Reflective School" competition is underway, organized by the Road Traffic Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Bydgoszcz. Schools implement the competition assumptions until November 16, and the results must be sent by November 28. 122 schools from the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship are participating in the competition.

Remember: a pedestrian in dark clothing is visible from 40 meters, and with reflectors - from 150 meters! That's 110 meters of extra reaction time for the driver!
