Senior Clubs Will Flourish in Szczuka and Gorczenica!

The Municipal Public Library in Szczuka has received a grant from the "Local Action Group Pojezierze Brodnickie" to establish two new Senior Clubs. Each club will receive an amount of PLN 66,823.00.

A Place for Meeting and Activation

The clubs will be established in Szczuka and Gorczenica and will become a place for meetings, integration and activation for the elderly. The aim is to support seniors in maintaining social, physical and intellectual activity, which will directly improve their quality of life. The clubs' activities are free of charge and are aimed at residents of the Brodnica Commune aged 60+.

Rich Program of Activities

As part of the clubs' activities, seniors will be able to participate in a variety of educational, cultural, physical and recreational activities. Three main educational paths are planned: physical development, digital competence and development of interests.

• Physical Development: A cycle of 8 meetings of 4 hours each, including breathing exercises, stretching, "healthy spine" exercises, Nordic walking and mat exercises. A meeting with a physiotherapist is also planned.
• Digital Competence: Digital workshops conducted by a trainer (8 meetings of 4 hours each), where seniors will learn how to use smartphones and tablets, use messengers, search for information on the Internet, use public e-services and safety rules on the Internet.
• Development of Interests: Creative and artistic workshops, as well as meetings of hobby groups, including painting workshops, handicraft classes and relaxation workshops.

Additional Attractions

The organizers also plan a dance party in the style of the 1970s and trips to salt mines, a theater and a science center.

Recruitment and Start

The implementation of the project and the recruitment of participants will begin in February 2026. Meetings will be held once a week for 4 hours a day. More information can be obtained from the Municipal Public Library in Szczuka. You are cordially invited!
