The 14th Brodnica Crossword Championships and the Anniversary of the "Jolka" Club

In the picturesque town of Brodnica, the 14th Brodnica Crossword Championships took place within the walls of the I Liceum Ogólnokształcące. This unique event, organized by the Brodnica Crossword Club "Jolka," was held on Saturday, September 20th. It gathered as many as 33 crossword and puzzle enthusiasts from all over Poland, ready for intellectual competition.

Fierce Competition and the Selection of a Champion

Under the patronage of the Brodnica Staroste (County Executive), participants faced a competition set prepared by the Toruń Crossword Club "Sfinks." The competition was extremely close, and ultimately, Przemysław Ketner from Józefów won the title of champion, defeating his wife, Anna Maria Ketner, thanks to better results in the first round. The third place was taken by Eugeniusz Wróblewski from Inowrocław. Barbara Dzieniszewska turned out to be the best Brodnica resident, placing 14th.

Organizer's Words and the Award Ceremony

Henryk Kołodziejski, the organizer and president of the "Jolka" club, expressed his satisfaction, emphasizing the friendly atmosphere and shared passion for solving puzzles. The winners received cups and statuettes funded by representatives of the county and city authorities. Each participant was presented with in-kind prizes thanks to the support of numerous sponsors.

25th Anniversary of the "Jolka" Club

This event had a special dimension, as the "Jolka" club celebrated its 25th anniversary. On this occasion, Andrzej Roman Wojnowski, the president of the "Omega" Association, presented commemorative statuettes to the club members, and the presence of representatives of local government authorities added prestige to the anniversary.
