District Officers Visit Schools - Educating the Youngest Road Users

September is a time for returning to school, and for police officers, it's also a special time to ensure the safety of the youngest on the roads. As part of the "Safe Route to School" campaign, district officers from the Brodnica County Police Headquarters visit schools and give lectures.

Education in Practice

Last week, district officers visited several primary schools in the Brodnica County, where they gave lectures to students. The police officers explained how to safely cross the road, emphasized the importance of wearing reflective elements, and taught caution around pedestrian crossings and intersections. They also discussed the rules for using bicycles and electric scooters.

Active Participation of Children

Children actively participated in the meetings, sharing their experiences related to the way to school, asking questions, and participating in discussions. The meetings were in the form of conversation and play, which made it easier for the youngest to remember key safety rules.

Reflectors for Everyone

At the end of the lecture, each child received a reflective element to increase their visibility after dark and thus improve their safety.
